Introduction

Even in the bizarre world of paranormal research there are sometimes cases that defy rationality yet tantalise with their promise of fresh ideas and concepts. Such a case involves John Martin, a resident of North Yorkshire in England who has encountered a set of circumstances that do not conform to any conventional interpretation of reality. Had it not been for previous research into shamanistic tradition and practises, I would have dismissed the case out of hand as sheer fantasy and delusion. However, knowing how shamans achieve their enhanced perceptions, it is entirely possible that due to some chance happenings, John had inadvertently achieved the same effect with some surprising and alarming results.

At its most basic level, this is an investigation into a series of alleged encounters with UFO's and their occupants, but on closer inspection it is also possible that John has confronted what in ages past would have been interpreted as demonic possession. In common with modern accounts by UFO contactees and abductees, John has witnessed a series of surreal events that appear to match many of the parameters attributed to 'conventional' UFO encounters. However, it soon becomes apparent that what John witnessed was achieved in an altered state on consciousness and it is this vital difference that makes this case very different from the rest.

Seeing the Light

This case came to my attention by a curious and circuitous route. I was contacted by my good friend, an American researcher and author named Mike Mott, to see if I could help evaluate some information he had received. The message arrived on Mike's PC via E-mail from the UK and had come from Mr. John Martin, who was looking for someone to help him validate a series of encounters with apparently extraterrestrial entities. John had read about Mike on the Internet and given Mike's wide-ranging background in esoteric research, had decided to contact him. Mike was interested in what John had to say and could see a whole range of possibilities, but due to the sheer distances involved he realised that logistically, it was virtually impossible to investigate the claims himself. Knowing that I was a kindred and sympathetic spirit, he contacted me and after exchanging a few observations, asked if we could co-operate on this case. Due to the nature of the claims I was immediately intrigued and agreed to co-operate fully with Mike.

I contacted John and explained what we proposed doing, John agreed and sent both Mike and I a series of accounts detailing his sightings. This created a flurry of E-mails to and from the UK and the USA as we discussed aspects of the case and began constructing a valid base from which to begin. Eventually Mike produced a list of questions (see appendix) designed to uncover both some background relating to the case and perhaps more importantly, an insight into John's spiritual belief system. From the outset, Mike was concerned that John was being lured into some form of trap by entities, who, if not extraterrestrial, may have originated in some other malign, alternate reality existing in parallel with our own. His concern did not stop with John, but included his entire family who also appeared to be implicated in the designs of the beings. Mike's interest in the case derived from his lengthy research into the possibility of underground dwelling creatures that have co-existed with humankind since the dawn of time. This area of study eventually culminated in his excellent book 'Caverns, Cauldrons and Concealed Creatures' that focuses on ancient legends and folklore and compares them with modern accounts and sightings related to geological anomalies. In particular, Mike was drawn to John's descriptions of the entities that apparently controlled the 'craft' and how they resembled traditional descriptions of elves, goblins and extraterrestrial 'greys'.

Mikes' worries stemmed from descriptions John gave of how some of the entities and their craft emerged from below the surface of the Earth, apparently materialising from a grassy bank close to John's home. As you will see from John's accounts, the entities seemed determined to contact him and entrust him with specific information. Other aspects of the case seemed to have direct parallels with the Jewish system of mystical belief, the Qabala, particularly the 'Tree of Life' and its ten Seriphoth. Many aspects of the case induced distinct feelings of unease, particularly the casual manner in which John accepted the events as borderline normal. It was only after conducting a detailed interview that the reasons for this became apparent.

Other aspects of John's story seemed to have their roots in aspects of standard physics especially when he used terms like 'entropy' in relation to time, however, as more was learned more about the scope of his encounters this appeared increasingly unlikely. It is important to realise that this series of encounters and how John perceived them had an extremely adverse affect on his relationship with his family, particularly with his wife who strongly disapproved of what was happening. According to John, when he told his parents they flatly refused to believe him to the point of calling his crazy, although under the circumstances this was not too surprising. John's continuing fascination with the encounters, which bordered on obsession, eventually created a situation where it was either his wife and family or his 'visions'. The end result was that John had to dispose of the corroborating evidence he had gathered over the two years the experiences lasted, this included several videotapes and photographs. Shortly after, the family moved to another area and the visions gradually petered out and finally stopped. However, even after the visions ceased, when he considered the possible implications he decided to seek out assistance.

Fortunately, John supplied copious notes, sketches and observations which, although written in retrospect, give a very clear picture of the complexity and detail of the sightings. For simplicity, we have included an edited copy of the notes sent by John to both Mike and I. The editing does not remove, detract from or distort the meaning of any of the text, but merely corrects grammar, spelling and punctuation mistakes and renders the notes more readable. As the reader will note, there is no preamble, just a straightforward presentation of facts. Additions to this first account are included at the end of the article. *Note, all the words used in parentheses are additions by the author. *

First account received from John Martin

Craft:

Saucer type, Building block type, Sphere type, Battle ship/destroyer types, (heavily armed) [and] local jet type.

The saucer craft are chrome silver or during flux orange. They can become any size they wish during flux. One saucer I watched die as it could not secure [stabilise?] in this dimension [it] turned grey then brown and dissolved. 5 naked humans, short in stature stood around its rim moving there arms frantically over it as if polishing, I later found out they were trying to save it by aura projection stabilisation.

The building block type is white with gold relief.

The sphere types are gold and silver and black. They can merge into one another. They also build the cities. One doubles into two, the original then merges with the second. In the space it just occupied is left (a) module, whatever. The process repeats on and on.

The battle ship destroyer types are just that, very similar to our own but the deck has no aircraft just complex devices which look like weapons. The spheres pass through the hull, the spheres can then become saucers on leaving the hull. Also, these ships are [have] cigar shaped hulls as they are [designed] for space travel.

The jet types are small winged, but [have] all sort's of beautiful design's usually in gold, black and a striking gun metal blue.

All the craft have spheres attached to them, some in great number [and] some with just 5 or so. The saucers sometimes have none.

Propulsion

The only ones I witnessed were the saucer and the sphere. The sphere showed nothing visible. The saucer; on the under-belly an orange flame would start to lick around in a circular motion speeding up until it became an orange glow. The saucer would rise into the air then ' a flash very bright leaving two rings of white light momentarily hanging in the air as the saucer vanished.

Aliens

The bird headed, I saw just these once on the decks of the aircraft carrier type. The greys as commonly described, including one with a large cone appendage on the right hand side of its head. A grey type with a small box/trunk instead of mouth and a short, stocky type being with bald head and visible vertebra running across the skull from forehead to nape of the neck. The ones I saw a lot [of were] similar to greys but with long necks with visible vertebra, large spherical black eyes and 3 fingers and a thumb. I once heard them speak in deep 'growling' voices and [the] language [was] not recognisable.

There was an apparent hierarchical system; soldiers, armed, and those wearing silver metallic skullcaps which ended in a v shape between the eyes. The skullcap was patterned in glyphs similar to Egyptian [hieroglyphs]. The aliens types not skull capped would always be wearing white overalls when working on any of the craft, I'm not sure if these were also the pilots. I got the impression the craft were also sentient. And finally as I said, I did see humans as well. But here's the 'biggy,' the whole deal involves kingdoms. The kingdoms I saw had a human-type king with [a] crown and all, plus princesses.

And last, one morning I was privy to an appearance in the sky about a mile away (and very big) of, I think, 4 or 5 heads and shoulders of these last described alien types, but not with skullcaps. They just appeared, seemed to watch me for a few minutes then went. I think they may have been THE GODS I don't know.

When we were living in a small cottage in Bradford I saw in the private garden about 30 or 40 different craft [of] all shapes and sizes in the trees in the garden. Right in the middle of the garden [were] 3 angels, human with the huge wings exactly like the religious paintings etc. They just stood there smiling. I did the same; I was in shock and in awe. Then they faded, [but] the craft stayed for hours.

Miscellaneous

Trees, the way they use the trees is amazing, they always use the trees 24 hours a day for one thing or another. [The] aliens in the trees and their technology are invisible to the naked eye. When you enter their speed [frequency?] they and their technology are cloaked, but on close observation can be seen as cigarette smoke which the eye can penetrate with great difficulty. If they are spending the night in trees they have like a pod which opens at the front, similar to a sleeping bag which hangs high up tethered to a branch. They appear to weigh very little. They are very agile in the trees and can move pretty fast without disturbing the tree much.

The devices they use in the trees are massively numerous. One for instance was a band of orange light about a foot in diameter and 6 inches deep. Another was a rectangular box, black with small satellite type dishes in each corner; this was sat [placed] on a branch. In front of it was a rectangular, flat, shimmering screen similar to heat shimmer. This was facing the only access to the branch for the purpose of cloaking. On looking through my binoculars for close observation absolutely nothing could be seen. However, after negotiating bad ground I was able to observe said thing from a side view with binoculars and I could see both objects very clearly. To clarify, even standing right in front of the object at a distance of 20 feet I could see both with my naked eye; but not through glass.

There are many big satellite dishes in trees everywhere always facing population, [populated areas]. They are cloaked by a snake projecting something at them. The snakes look and move like real snakes, but whether they are mechanical or not I do not know. The dishes are; inner, covered in bee hive configuration with black sunken pots with gold edging, the final [outside] edge of the dishes are rimmed in white. Another strange thing observed was a snake projecting a triangular event in a tree with branches and leaves looking as [if] made of glass within the triangle.

Down in the depths of the coppice was a runway in the grass approx 150 feet long and 6feet wide outlined by fairy lights, red, blue and orange, no higher than the grass. Down the centre ran 3 strobe lights which would flash in succession the width of the 6 feet then move down approx 3 feet and so forth, running from the top to the bottom in about a minute and repeating. The saucer type craft then appeared at the top out of a solid banking fast then slowing to a crawl as they reached the bottom. The craft were airborne at about 12 feet. On reaching the bottom of the runway they would drift off against a tree and stop.

A small opening would appear and the occupants would come out on their hands and knees on to the thin ledge running around the circumference of the saucer. From there they would climb on the tree [and] make their way down and walk to a designated area, lie down and appear to sleep; they were hovering a couple of inches off the ground. They were all wearing a brown cape type thing and wore gloves [with] 3 fingers and a thumb. About 10 craft came through the portal. There were approx 5 beings left each one. The first 5 ships on disembarking turned orange [then] accelerated straight up getting bigger and fainter as they went until they reached a high altitude. They were spread in a straight line approx a mile apart directly above us and very faint orange, they sat there many hours.

The tired beings slept for approx 30 minutes. I tried to get really close to them as they were all sleeping but could not due to guarding snakes which stayed motionless until I approached then lifted up there heads pointing at me, I backed off slowly. It was at this event [time?] that I witnessed the saucer die .It materialised down the runway okay but instead of drifting into a tree it drifted to the ground. The hatch opened [and] 5 aliens got out, they went off to rest area then 5 humans, naked, got out and ran there hands frantically over the saucer. It changed from silver to grey then started to [turn] brown; it was at this point they left it. One of the other saucers then floated down and they got inside. After their rest they went and stood behind an orange screen one at a time, they appeared to shrink into nothing. I went to the melting saucer which was now just a mound giving off intense heat. Within I think, an hour, there was no sign it had ever been there apart from [some] flattened grass with slight [a] discolouration.

Your average tree will always contain at least 7 or 8 areas which appear as various shapes made from cigarette smoke which at a glance your vision will not penetrate, no branches no leaves and nothing beyond. All this is at night, during daylight hours, even if they are there which I don't think, nothing can be perceived.

In the realm where they exist so do the shells, or whatever, of our dead. I say shells because it is believed by some the essence leaves for a higher plane of existence and only a simulation is left for a while, bound close to the earth. We can only take the masters at their word for this, but it feels right. This realm appeared to be split into different kingdoms on different plains, high and low.

Some were mind-blowingly advanced to the point where whole cities where [constructed] of modules of all shapes and sizes neatly fitted together for the purpose of coming apart and flying off, the whole lot if necessary. Attached to each module is a black triangle with a saucer or jet type craft floating about on it, if the occupant's were home that is.

When the craft was to be used, gold spheres would engage the craft to stop it wondering, then beings would come out in white overalls, usually 3, and do some preparation work on the craft, actually passing tools up and the like. Then a sphere of white would drift from the modules, blend with the craft, all would board. It would rise just above the height of the city then flash, gone, leaving two rings of light floating in the air momentarily. In this kingdom only, were snakes of all shapes and sizes performing different tasks. Some emitted a blue laser, sometimes at modules, sometimes at one another over distances. I'm pretty sure this kingdom is where the skullcaps reside; although it's possible they oversee all kingdoms and belong to none.

Somewhere on earth, I forget where, is a huge temple structure cut, the whole thing, into the rock; it is typical of other temples found elsewhere around the world. These are in fact representations of another real kingdom which exists even now in this other realm, only it stretches for miles. I think it was this one where I saw only humans and such things as a man with a bear a big black bear wearing a collar and chain, but he was stood with his arm across its shoulders. I would say there was love there. There, I also saw a small boy with a small dinosaur, also on a lead chain. In this place were a lot of beautiful vases and ornament's on display everywhere and lots of gold adorning the structures.

Another kingdom was nothing but trees with tiny tree houses in them. For example there was a tree house about 4 feet high 5 feet long, all carved like a Swiss cottage with a small patio outside the front very small door, a beautiful thing. On this patio type thing sat a beautiful woman dressed Arabian fashion with her two small children. She was actually cooking with a cooking pot hung from a tripod above what appeared to be an open fire. I didn't understand at all, it didn't even look as if they could all fit inside the dwellings. Then in a vision state I was shown that even though all these dwellings where separated, when you entered them, inside was just one big cottage type place where they all were together. There were levels in here with real angels coming and going on the highest one and a lot of children on the second level a beautiful and very warm, friendly place.

All these kingdoms where on the same plane and where separated by a small mountain range and even this was another inhabited kingdom mostly caves with some huge thrones and temples. All cave entrances etc where the same half sphere and hieroglyphs apparently carved around each one.

Each plain was separated by first the proverbial glass ' a see of glass' then below that was a grid of black lines. I was taken momentarily to one of the lower plains, [a] full nightmare land. This was a different experience as I was briefly with other humans being delegated to a household. There was this guy wearing a mask he had obviously made himself from black insulation tape, I thought 'That's odd, why is he wearing that'? He took me into a house. There was this weird looking family like the swampies in America's outback. They were all smiling and friendly, and then all of a sudden this ugly woman produced this long knife and went to stab me in the face with it. I was pulled out of there quick as a flash before it made contact. I immediately realised these were the lower domains of hell. How many and how far I do not know and don't care to, that very brief encounter was enough for me but obviously someone thought I should know they exist. Also, I noted in this domain it was very dark with a black sky. The higher kingdoms, I think, were bathed in a slightly golden light.

Another thing I learned about the kingdoms was they can only exist as part of the earth itself. They exist with and are a part of all matter pertaining to the earth. They are so vast and numerous the mind cannot comprehend. After all, in this place exists everything that ever was and everything that ever will be.

Through intuitive guidance they showed me our bodies are made of light with invisible roots of pure energy which leaves our thumbs and big toes to return and leave our footprints, as it were, on all that we project.

To illustrate this, first I was guided to run my thumb slowly back and forth across the surface of a piece of stone. Within a couple of minutes a small circle began to appear. It was actually sunken slightly into the stone. I progressed from this to hieroglyph's appearing on the stone. They always contained an eye, presumably the eye of Ra. Soon, I could do this on stone buildings from a distance or even soil on the ground. I could also do the same thing on an area of grass. I once photographed the results on grass before it reverted back. This was the thing; the effect is always momentarily but it can be caught on film. If you did this on yourself or another, little white triangles would appear. One night I did this on the wife's arm, she could see them and drew round each one with a biro as I produced the next. After a few minutes it was the done and we did [continued] up to the elbow. It was impressive; they were in spirals.

I progressed first to being able to connect with plants even from a distance and persuade them to lower their leaves and branches or flutter. Next, I went on to any solid object; I could move things as before even from a distance. Then I went on to being able to perceive the energy. It leaves the thumb, say from the nail, as a blue light which starts from a point expanding as it goes in a form of triangle.

Next I learnt that one side of our body is male and produces a male energy and the other side is female producing female energy, the energy is sexual in nature. Positioning the thumbs in certain ways, these energies can be caused to oscillate producing a vibration which can match that of other realms which in turn can cause even massive effects in our reality. Another point I should mention is, as my awareness and knowledge progressed, whenever they were with me and we were working there would always be religious hymns being sung by a vast choir of men, all the time. I could not see them but I knew they were all around me.

One day as one of the skull capped beings stood next to me, he pointed to the mirror, they never verbally communicated with me, as I looked in the mirror my hair disappeared and was replaced by a skullcap. I could feel it comfortably fitting my head, and then as I went to touch it vanished and my hair returned.

They were also working with me in my dreams, which were more real than real life itself; they showed me the 'Rapture' taking place, then [an] invasion by another race of beings which I will fight using these powers.

This is what I was basically born to do. All this comes to me with the grace of God and I am to be one of many Christian soldiers. There is a strange birthmark on my leg, this was my mark and how I would be identified in this life. I don't have any problem with any of this as I talked to my mother's mother just after she died when I was about 7 or 8. She told me then I would do great things. Also I have been empathic, when I allowed it to happen, from being a child.

The sad part of all this is, just as I was progressing at a great rate with these beings, my wife put a stop to it all. My two children who knew nothing of what was going on started seeing them in the house. Up to that point my wife even though she had done the arm thing, [she] didn't believe any of it, she was in denial I think, which was fair enough, I didn't push her. But now everything changed [and] she got frightened. She started to complain about the amount of time I was spending on the 'project', for want of a better word. You should know that all this had to take place at night, mostly when they were all in bed, many a night she spent on her own. Then I would have to catch up on lost sleep leaving her to do all the work with the kids.

I was out of work and still am due to a back injury (nothing to do with this). Anyway it got worse until she had an affair and was making plans to leave me. For the sake of my children I stopped it all dead in its tracts. I was in no fit state of mind to carry on anyway.

We then returned to the town we left some 15 years earlier, both our families live there. All I could do was buy a computer so I could surf the net and try and learn some background, anything, prophesy, religion, anything. In the back of my mind was also the fear [that] I was being used and manipulated by evil forces. I still have no way of knowing about that. I have found nothing pertaining to the skullcaps through the net and boy, have I searched. Lots of the other stuff, silver ufo's, orange power source, some mythology on the kingdoms. There is a whole lot more to this than I have written about here, more things I've seen and done.

So, eating away at me is an urge to continue with the experience itself. Oh, I do have a cassette recording of a medium I went to see who picked up [on] the whole thing, even the skullcaps. Margaret (same name as my mother) said they are of God and confirmed [that] I am to be a Christian soldier. I still have the tape, but videos, photographs and other stuff [that] I had, I had to destroy as a deal to keep my wife living with me. What I am seeking is someone to see the truth in this and realise the implications. Then I want to work with a group in laboratory conditions and carry on the work of which must be kept secret until a conclusion and a carefully thought out decision on what to do next is reached.

I have talked with my wife and she will agree to this as long as it's done somewhere close to these lines. Another thing Margaret said; they were holding a thing above my head saying Scotland. She told me the work would carry on, there was much for me to do yet and I would be working with some wonderful people.

Observations

This then is the first set of notes from John regarding the events he witnessed, are they real or imagined or confabulation, (a mixture of both)? A taped interview produced some interesting information. From the outset we must be aware that John achieved these visions whilst in an altered state of consciousness. When I asked how the visions began, he explained that the first encounter occurred after he had been ill and unable to sleep for several nights, due to the lack of sleep he noticed that his perceptions had become 'altered'. When I pressed him about what he meant by 'altered', he said that he noticed that objects appeared to have a glowing outline around them; this impression became greatly enhanced if he took certain drugs.

My initial reaction to his revelation regarding the use of drugs was one of disappointment, I feared that it made his account marginal and unreliable; I asked what kind of drugs he had used. When he was in his late teens he had experimented with LSD, but, he assured me, only very infrequently, perhaps six times in all, he did not think that this had any bearing on his present encounters. To enhance these he had been using 'speed '(amphetamine) to keep him awake, he had done this over a period of some months. I am aware that shamans use a variety of methods, including certain drugs, to obtain their altered states of consciousness and the accompanying visions, so upon reflection I did not dismiss the accounts out of hand because it was possible that John had inadvertently induced the same state. It is common knowledge that there are naturally occurring hallucinogens within the human brain, one, the neurotransmitter Serotonin, is perhaps the most widely known. This is the chemical that affect mood and induces sleep, while in the sleep state it is reabsorbed by the brain. If on the other hand, a person goes without, or is otherwise derived of sleep, Serotonin levels rise and the person begins to hallucinate. The hallucinations take several forms, but are most commonly observed as flashing or streaking white lights, and ghostly and distorted faces.

Another natural hallucinogen is DMT or N-diemethyltryptamine, which is found in the liver, brain, spleen, lungs, blood and urine. This is produced while dreaming and the effects last for only two to five minute and the effect is normally totally gone is around thirty minutes. Lab reports on its use describe user effects like a buzzing noise which gradually grows louder until the experiencer is 'thrown into hyperspace' where they transcend time and space. Those who have taken part in the experiments report seeing images of strange machines, highly intelligent beings with whom they communicate and bizarre plant and animal forms. This is precisely the effect demonstrated by the shamans of various cultures who consume a synthetic DMT compound called 'Ayahausca' which is made from plant extracts containing both DMT and its monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitor, neither chemical works alone, they must be combined to have the desired effect. The shamans enter these altered states both to obtain the answers to problems troubling their tribe or for personal enlightenment. Conventional science of course attributes all the visions, whether from lab experiments or shamans, entirely to electro-chemical processes contained within the brain and nothing else, however, new research indicates that the experiencers may actually be entering a new frame of reference outwith our reality.

Nevertheless, the introduction of drugs into the equation has raised other factors because of the psychological and neuro-physiological effects caused by these substances. I asked him for more information about his use of amphetamine; he assured me that he as not a steady use of this substance and used it in small doses to achieve the desired effects. While this is possible, from an investigative point of view it would be better if there has been no chemical enhancement. John also assured me that he no longer uses amphetamines or any other type of proscribed drugs.

When I asked about corroborating information, John told me that his daughter had witnessed some of the alleged abilities given to him through contact with the entities. He claimed that he was able to move items by means of energy that he emitted from his thumbs; he described the energy as 'streamers of blue light'. John explained that he asked his daughter to watch as he moved a metal astray across the carpet. He held is thumbs a few inches from the ashtray and the ashtray moved away from him over the carpet, apparently repelled by the 'streamers of blue light', I was not able to ask the daughter about this claim, so for the moment it remains uncorroborated. He also claimed to be able to move small gauge electrical cables, the type used on domestic electrical appliances, a colleague, Gary, (who was present during the interview) said he witnessed this, but also added that the movement was slight. If what he says is correct, it does not matter greatly if the movement was minimal or not, all that matters is that John actually moved the cable in a non-physical manner. Precisely how he does this is not clear, but it is possible that he is affecting the ambient magnetic field in some manner.

I asked John about his views concerning religion and he explained that although he recognised some form of cohesive force creating order within the cosmos, he was not an especially religious man and certainly not a churchgoer. This seemed slightly at odds with the remarks he made in his account which appeared to indicate that he placed some importance on 'God' and what 'God' represented. Other points in his account regarding a 'visit' by his deceased maternal grandmother indicate that John accepts the existence of an afterlife and therefore an acceptance of 'spirit'. Another lengthy account sent to us by John concern what he calls 'The Black Moon', which of a sister satellite to our own moon but is normally invisible from Earth except when glimpsed via light reflecting from its dark surface.

Several of Mike's observations regarding what John encountered supported the idea that then events may have a strong spiritual basis for them. Mike felt that some of the 'aliens' were more likely to be a form of malevolent spirit. This viewpoint is also a nod towards the concept of UFO's, their occupants and Ufology in general as a psychosocial phenomenon. It also has links to the idea that 'unclean spirits' dominate the field of Ufology and that UFO's are the creation and messengers of Satan. Both of these views do have a serious basis in the ocean of literature written about the subject and are worthy of inclusion in this evaluation. Because of this, and our worries about his frame of mind, I felt that perhaps we should have John's account evaluated by someone with qualifications in psychiatry. I did this and the report indicated interpretations of the case that we had not considered. Although we have only selected sections of the report for inclusion here, the entire report is appended at the end of the article. Another point worth mentioning is John's claim that he did not have a good education, while this may be true, it is belied by the attention to detail, focus and mention of various strands of esoteric thought in his accounts; it later materialised that he was self-taught in these subjects.

What follows is the first part of a psychological evaluation carried by psychiatric worker, Mr Dave Colman which, in line with John's accounts, is divided into two sections.

First Impressions

…. Without meeting the writer several times it is nigh impossible to draw any accurate professionally based psychological assessment as requested. However on reading the report it would be easy to offer a diagnosis centred on a Schizoid personality type with grandiose religious delusions (Any Biblical author may fit into the same category). Any MD or psychiatric professional would probably concur as long as they were not Christian. I would also question the amount of hallucinogenic drugs, such as LSD, which may have been ingested by the subject. I mention LSD in particular as it is characterised by visual hallucinations of colourful stylised patterns, as well as olfactory and sensory heightening. It is also common for LSD 'trippers' to experience a great zeal for a deeper type of religious experience and to have religious visions, which may or may not include UFO type experiences. These experiences can be either extremely positive or equally negative to each extreme. (The heaven and hell drug)….

… The author may also be attempting to inform us, through well-constructed and measured prose, of certain esoteric values and beliefs? Were these written esoteric puzzles? (Remember the writing style of the Tenth Insight by James Redfield author of 'The Celestine Prophecy'). If this is so Mr. Martin must have a very good degree of esoteric knowledge. You should attempt to discover what this level is. On the other hand, if we discount drugs, mental illness or spiritual subterfuges, then Mr. Martin may indeed be receiving spiritual/psychic messages…

…The description of the snakes (Massive interpretations symbolically…i.e. wisdom or rejuvenation depending on the context) the symbolical serpent is extremely ambiguous and yet a deep esoteric symbol. The Orbourous (snake eating its tail) is a symbol of cyclical eternal returns whilst the in an Alchemical sense it is viewed as cyclical 'processes', (Evaporation and condensation). The mention here about a triangle and a tree (cabalistic) is quite revealing. The triad of father son and Holy Spirit could be looked at in a cabalistic way. The top three sephiroths of the Tree of Life (Triad) [are] Kether (1) (father) Hokmah (2) (wisdom, feminine) Binah (3) The mention of the Bee Hive may also be a significant symbol, .St Ambrose likened the church to a Beehive. The bee itself has many symbolical meanings, e.g. purity, abstinence to death and resurrection. *Authors note*, The bee was also a symbol associated with the seventh century, Merovingian dynasty of French Kings'.

…This page tends to smack of LSD symptomotolgy. However I am not so sure when the report is read through of a drug connection, don't fall into that trap. However it is important to discover if he has or has not taken LSD or mushrooms at ANY time. His beliefs regarding the male and female sides of the body are close to my thinking as the dual 'sex' of the universe. I can testify to experiencing the skullcap scenario and I was not on LSD or mushrooms, *Authors note*, Mr Colman is also an 'experiencer'.

…The 'Eye of Ra' comment; recent research revealed that a certain vibration in the sand (e.g. the Kings Chamber in the great pyramid) revealed a geometric pattern, which in turn resembled the Eye of Ra. We may be talking vibration here in the stones. I get suspicious when I hear of symbols in stone, if you play with the word stones you get notes or tones. Either way it spells resonance…

…I found the positioning of the thumbs comments interesting and I hope you press on that point. I have long considered the importance of hand movements in spiritual matters without finding any worthwhile answers as yet. This is an important area as we may learn something out of the ordinary here. I was a bit perplexed regarding the overall Christian flavour of the writings, being Gnostic myself, but I have witnessed many Christian flavoured spiritual events, [I] tend to favour the Christ ethos myself….

These then are revealing initial comments of a professional, a trained psychiatric counsellor and nurse and they raise some interesting and profound questions regarding the spiritual aspect of what John encountered. In some ways they introduce aspects that hint at the psychosocial hypothesis aspect of UFO encounters. This second account introduces added dimension and depth and also serves to add detail to some aspects of the first account. At the end we include the more of Dave Colmans comments. In this instance, to avoid confusion Johns account is more heavily edited, but the full account is appended at the conclusion of the article.

John's Second Account

Black moon

After watching the black moon I can say it is the same size as our moon, very close to our moon and orbiting our moon very quickly and the orbit appears to be random and changes position with every pass. The black moon can only be viewed by reflected light off its surface as caused by our moon. Its surface is smooth but not as glass there is a texture but no craters. The black moon was one of my best indicators for me that what I had seen was not my imagination. This was born out when I discovered the Rosicrucians had known about the black moon and for some reason decided to publish this secret of theirs in I think the 60s. There were no details however. To view the kingdoms the light must hit at 45 degrees to your viewpoint.

To do the lightning thing the hands must be as if holding a ball. Balancing the left and right energies is everything. Oscillations and a new vibration can only then be achieved. For me this could not be maintained for more than a minute at most. The black and white orbs ---- the skies are literally full of them [in] all sizes. I get a strong impression they are wandering souls.

I found on a web site an old painting, I think maybe 13th century, which depicted exactly that, the balls in the sky. The UFO's are sometimes part cloud part UFO, almost as if they are projecting themselves onto suitable cloud. I also found another old painting depicting exactly this. The scene is of a battle about to be fought, horses and such on a battlefield. Above them to the left and to the right are cloud formations part cloud part UFO.

I witnessed a sphere type craft which had around it's mid section a straight sided cylindrical section, similar to a ball cut in half, pulled apart a third, and a cylindrical piece added. The cylindrical piece was divided again in the middle the full circumference. The top of this then contained square frames sat next to each other the full circumference. In each box was like slanting lines close together filling the box. The adjoining box was the same but with the lines sloping the opposite way and so on and so on. Below the centre line was the same thing. The spherical ends of this craft were gun metal blue, the mid section was white, grey with a gold beading separating the sections. Through balance and oscillation of energy from my thumbs I caused this craft to appear. It was about 1 inch in size and appeared on my windowsill exactly where I was projecting.

When in motion the mid section was rotating in opposite directions to one another in a wobbly fashion it was ascending. As I watched it I felt it was polarising light waves from the midsection. I don't know why this thought occurred to me, I don't think it was my own as happened frequently throughout this whole experience over the year I worked my way through it. For some reason it reminded me of what you see if you close your eyes and apply pressure. Also I felt empathetically that if this particular craft was to be a big size in motion near me I would be damaged or at least my brain would.

Whenever I cause these apparitions 'they are solid' [and] it never lasts more than a few seconds. They are always spinning, 'wobbly'. I would say the spin speed was somewhere between slow and fast. If I cause their appearance anywhere in the sky they are usually relative to the same size as commonly reported UFO's, possibly about 20 foot wide. Apart from this sphere one they are always saucer type, a grey colour with a black spinning mid section.

Whenever I do cause the sky appearances always the R.A.F would send out a helicopter or other to the same location within minutes. This was another good indicator to me that this whole phenomenon is solid and for real. Not all the aircraft that fly our skies are what they seem. Not wanting to risk harming anyone i would sweep the path of a high altitude aircraft with just the one hand. This had no effect on but 1 or two, which were caused to violently veer all over the place. I t seemed to me they were momentarily loosing control although they appeared as normal jet's I don't think they were.

On a clear night I would sweep the stars, sometimes one would wobble. When I then focussed on to it, it would flash in and out of sight, wobble about even more then cruse across the sky very quickly to a new location and stop. It would sit there looking like any other star. Once or twice I chased them about but I felt nervous about doing this so didn't make a habit of it

Aiming into a populated area in the early hours, once or twice I caused alarms to go off all over the place and security light's to come on. This was also another indicator of the reality of what was going on Here's a 'biggy,'…One night from a good vantage point at about 2 am I watched in the distance cruising down through the town a huge gold sphere, then about 200 yards to either side of it were the same .From them came lots of small football sized gold spheres. As the big ones cruised along at say running speed, in unison the small ones were entering every property.

When they got close enough I could see them passing through the glass windows into each house for a few seconds, they would then come back out through another window or the same and straight into the next property. After a certain area was done the large spheres would emit fiery arms of orange winch the small spheres would briefly make contact with. I only ever witnessed this event the once.

Immediately the pattern started to go in and out of focus until an American Indian appeared, head and shoulders. It was like a TV screen but better he was 3 dimensional. He was I'd say about 35, 40 wearing beads, ear beads, small feathers, a typical Apache type Indian. He was very handsome and looked a proper picture of health. He just smiled at me, I smiled back. I felt a really warm friendly glow from him. Then I had a flashback memory of seeing him when I was a child as I looked back above my pillow; there he was. It freaked me out at the time; this was a genuine memory I had forgotten. Next his eyes started to glow until they were two eyes of pure white light flickering. At first I didn't understand then I knew instantly he was talking to me. There was no sound, no language, I didn't know what he was saying but instinctively I knew I had to accept [it] anyway and I would know later.

Observations

The reference to his thumbs is central to many instances where John appears to use exceptional abilities bestowed by his encounters. It was by using 'streamers of blue light' emanating from his thumbs that he was able to propel a metal ashtray along the carpet. It is by using energy from his thumbs that he can create and cause designs to appear on natural surfaces, (he claims that coal is best for this purpose). He also claims that he caused triangular marks to appear on the skin of is wife's arm by gently massaging an area of skin with his thumbs. Worryingly he also claims that he has affected aircraft in flight by using projections from his thumbs. John also states that occasionally, when walking past street lights, they would flickers or go out which fits the profile of someone who is electrically hypersensitive (EH) and in whose presence electrical items frequently malfunction. In another claimed demonstration of use of the emanations from his thumbs, John presented us with videotape showing his thumbs in close up.

On the tape, John is observed in close up moving a very small piece of stone by touch using his thumbs; the stone has both smooth and rough surfaces. As we viewed the images he drew our attention to an area of the roughened section. He claims that part of this small area morphed into and actually depicts a frieze illustrating 'Egyptian' images and scenes. On close inspection there does appear to be is a difference in the section and indeed it does resemble pictures, but not as clear for example, as the so-called 'rock pictures' produced by Hollow Earth proponent Richard Shaver. On another part of the tape, he actually placed 'masking tape', (the kind used screen paint work in car body shops,) over a frame and pointed the camera lens at it; the tape was all that could be seen. He then attempted to produce images on of the tape using his thumbs, unfortunately, nothing was observed.

The mention of Richard Shaver in this context is quite relevant, in the late 1950's Shaver contacted Ray Palmer, editor of the pulp Sci-Fi magazine 'Amazing Stories', with claims of two distinct races living below the surface of the Earth. The races, were the 'Deros' or 'destructive robots' and the 'Teros' who were peace loving humans locked in perpetual combat with the 'Deros'. Although both races possessed advanced technology, not only did the Deros battle with the Teros, but when the need arose, they would come to the surface and kidnap surface dwellers for their own malign purposes. In retrospect it is difficult to see how, other than as works of fiction, any credence was given to these stories, but at the time Palmer, perhaps displaying remarkable prescience, published them at face value and gradually a mythos and cult developed around them.

Shaver claimed that the 'revelations' arrived in the form for telepathic impressions and voices that began during his trade as a welder. He claimed that over time, he began to hear anomalous sounds in the steady hum of the transformers used in electric welding. Gradually these sounds developed into voices that imparted information to him, information that caused him to record what he was told in book form. Such was the impression created by the stories that eventually corroborating evidence began to arrive at the offices of Amazing Stories in the form of accounts from various sources indicating that Shaver was in fact telling the truth about the warring subterranean races. Interestingly, he also produced a series of 'rock pictures', portraits and images that 'enhanced' from striations embedded in the layers and stratification of rocks and stones. This is a curious anomaly that can be seen by most people given the propensity for human beings to see faces and other images in just about anything. During my own researches into aspects of the paranormal, I have also encountered people who claimed to hear voices coming to them through items of domestic electrical equipment like washing machines and microwave ovens. This phenomenon always occurred when the item of equipment was turned on and the person was in close proximity to it. Once again this raises the possibility that the person may be electrically hypersensitive and they were interacting with the local electromagnetic field generated by the item. It is a common factor in a variety of allegedly paranormal encounters.

John also occasionally refers to 'orbs', a photographic anomaly depicting small, free-floating spheres sometimes seen in 'haunted' locations. Sometimes referred to as 'spirit orbs' by some researchers, they are credited with displaying a measure of intelligence. His reference to 'wandering souls' also indicates another, possibly spiritual, element to the experiences. Either that, or a possible indication that what we perceive as souls have a totally different purpose and identity from that traditionally ascribed to them. Or perhaps does this indicate once again that we are dealing with some form of inter-dimensional entity? The next section covers part two of Dave Colman's evaluation, the page references relate to the printout of John's account, Dave also suggests some questions to ask.

Part two of the Psychiatric Evaluation

BLACK MOON

We have already ascertained the symbolism of the black moon and it negative aspects. The Rosicrucians certainly have deep esoteric knowledge so knowledge about Lillith would be common. I have a rare Rosicrucians book, which may explain in more detail, but I see no point in delving into that aspect at the moment.

Holding the hands as like holding a ball is very familiar to me and until now I have had no explanation as to the reason. When meditating in a circle my hands involuntary were placed in such a fashion. This happened every time I entered the circle. The black and white orbs are from an ancient woodcut…usually claimed as ancient UFO sightings.

Causing the UFO to arrive by positioning the thumbs would appear crackpot a la Adamski etc. Ask for a demonstration. I have heard reports of orb type UFO's of varying sizes, again, [a possible parallel with] Falkland. (Note; the mention of Falkland refers to the 'Falkland Hill Case', a prominent, Scottish, UFO case involving a family and their encounter with a landed UFO and its occupants.) Knowledge is demonstrated when he talks of magnetic grid systems etc. Does he hold Astrological knowledge, a 40 year old Aries? Entering the realms of inter-dimensional science now, not my strong point.

I would ask him about his Holy Grail beliefs and his thoughts of Armageddon. Does he believe that there is a universal war going on? Multi-dimensionalism: The recent movie 'THE ONE' centres on this theory, has he seen it? Again I must concur that humans are a balanced male and female. I could write the part about the Indian, I met him in a tepee, whilst in deep meditation. This was exactly what happened to me. I had no flashbacks as someone coughed and startled me out of my state.

The additional references to 'wandering souls' also indicts a possible spiritual input to the visions, either that or a possible indication that what we perceive as souls have a totally different purpose and identity from that traditionally ascribed to them. Or perhaps does this indicate once again that we are dealing with some form of inter-dimensional entity?

John's Second Account

Proof

When we left Burnley to move back to Bradford on the very Saturday we moved into our new home, a two hundred year old cottage with private garden owned by my wife's mother the following occurred. That night as I sat in the garden alone relaxing I got a visit, Orbs the gold ones they just moved around the trees in the garden 3 of them then two disappeared one just sat right on the corner of a dilapidated shed at the bottom of the garden. I felt a reassuring sense of peace I cannot explain. After 20 minutes I went in. Once inside I looked out the window it was gone.

The following Monday it was reported in the Yorkshire Evening Telegraph that Saturday night several people on a moors in Bradford witnessed orbs in the sky, I think they said gold orbs, I'm not sure, but obviously it can be checked in the record's of the Telegraph. It didn't actually mean a lot to me as I knew they were around anyway, I was just surprised they had followed me [as] I was half expecting not to see them again due to possible ley line connections etc at the place i lived in Burnley.

Michael questioned why they would appear in my back garden. One possible answer to this is there is a fixed portal; this was in the coppice, which adjoined my back garden. Hopefully I will be able to show you this place; it is well worth a look. It is perfect for such a thing. Another point is coming out of this area is a beam of white light which goes straight up until out of sight , this never goes off. It is invisible to our naked eye and when in their frequency appears as brightly lit cigarette smoke. Another point is to one side is a motorway on the other running through the coppice is a single railway track. Again empathetically I felt this altered the magnetic grid system, ley lines.

Another strange aspect to this story is a guy named Trog, I never knew his proper name and it would be useful to meet him for verification. I met Trog shortly after my 40th birthday, it turned out we were both the same age shared the same birthday, and our past's matched almost year for year. As I am disabled but not to any GREAT detriment, thank god so is Trog. He also lives quite close to this coppice directly across from it bar the motorway. I got on really well with him and decided to confide in him what I was at that time just discovering.

He was very polite and decent about it, but he thought I was cracking up so I stopped trying to bring him into it even though I desperately needed company on this and a second opinion.

However there was this; the last time I went round to his house we were talking and one of his kids asked for some money as he pulled out his change he stopped in silence for a minute staring at the money in his hand. He said that's weird, I said what, he said this gold coin, I lost the two of them together a couple of weeks ago. Then the other night or morning I found one next to the bed all burnt and black and now here's the other still shinny. They were both shinny when I lost them. He was well taken aback by this and you could see the struggle going on trying to figure how this one finished up in his change. I thought it was odd this should happen just as I am visiting.

My thoughts on this are; there's some connection with the proximity we both ended up living in and 40 year old Aries. This is why I cannot rule out the fact that this may have been ordained and planned before either of us was even born. It seems to me one was to do, the other was backup. If not for the coins I would have expected possibly even a third. There are another two couples in Burnley who had to put up with me trying to explain about these aliens I had just discovered. My wife and me visited one of the couples a few month back and they actually said, remember when you were on about those aliens? I have since learnt to keep my mouth shut. There is still a lot more to tell you but personally I think this is plenty for now, we can work on the rest after this lot if you wish.

My personal thoughts on all this are, (subject to change) - We live in a closed loop projected society, we project then perceive within the laws of this dimension. The Holy Grail is a magnetic field lattice and vibration that separates us from other projected societies within and around the earth. I think I even know where the grail initiator is, the pyramids at Giza are also a major part of this. Since this is a closed protected system the only way the aliens can enter and stay on a permanent basis is through D.N.A manipulation and the ability to project themselves into it.

It boils down to energy, they can visit but only by using energy from there own realm, dimension. They are looking to enter, draw energy and project. I think there is a war being fought permanently by beings trying to protect others and us.

The universe exists inside every atom and the universe we perceive is inside an atom. I have these dreams that are mind blowing. In one earlier this year I was shown Multi-universes. Adjoining ours are multi-universes in each one is a version of ourselves. As the universes get further away from this one we alter due to cause and effect. Eventually becoming something else say, myself becoming a woman. This woman is also here on earth and visa versa. The message was every other person on this earth here now, in the past and in the future is the same one person. You or me in a different aspect. In a distant universe, what started out as, say, a woman, transforms through all the universes becoming say a man in this one and visa versa. So each one of us are in every universe exactly as we are here but enjoying totally different circumstances and the woman stood next to you in this universe is you in a distant universe transformed.

We are one being only, all of us or possibly two, male and female. Honestly I'm not making this up, during the dream I understood everything, it was mind-bogglingly complex involving colour, sound, Doppler Effect and all matter as light energy into matter. The rays of the sun are our own consciousness returned to us, the way we perceive light is all wrong. It was so complex when i woke only bits stayed with me. We are also animal, mineral and vegetable within ever decreasing and expanding circles and cycles. Every thing that contains the divine spark of light is sexed equally. That means myself for instance, although heterosexual am a balancing act of male and female energy.

The dream (vision) of what I perceived as the rapture was the one which affected me most and was remembered in full detail as were several others.

As I finished it a new one appeared i did the same it went on until the whole of the paper barring the edges was covered in a pattern, small detail. Whilst I cannot possibly say with any accuracy if the subject has indeed taken any drugs at all my initial scepticism regarding the extremely accurate description of the UFOs was tempered by the fact that I have personally experienced UFO encounters and some of the esoteric events described in the report. Despite being trained professionally in psychiatry and counselling my professional judgement, whilst being to the forefront, is tempered by the fact that I am a 'experiencer' myself therefore It was for that reason I continued to read on with an open mind.

My overall impression was that there was a great deal of esoteric symbolism contained within the report (in my opinion Cabalistic and Alchemical). The first question that arose in my mind was the fact that the writer claimed to be poorly educated yet he wrote throughout in a clear and descriptive manner. I am aware of other spiritual writings [from a friend] that could not have possibly come from the author. He [the writer] is a close friend and whilst not insulting him the writing style and content was simply superb and of a high professional calibre.

I found the passages 'Your average tree will always contain 7 or 8 areas…' interesting. Again, the tree reference, cigarette smoke and the fact that our vision cannot penetrate. This may be a reference to the tree of life and the many 'areas' planes that are a continuation of the original. The cabalistic AIN is the limitless source from which all emerges and all returns.

The passage, 'In the realm where they exist, so do the shells or whatever of our dead.' Here we have reference to a higher plain of existence and that of masters. Reference of different kingdoms being split is a huge hint at the Tree of life again. Reference to a higher plain of existence and that of 'masters'. Has Mr. Martin read of the Council of Nine or the Great White Brotherhood?

Spheres, Sephiroths? There are many previous mentions of Gold, a possible connection with the sun, energy [and even] God etc. 'Another kingdom was nothing but trees', the duality of man, universal harmony, .in my fathers house there are many mansions, I feel that some of these passages may take a long time to study for an in-depth understanding. He finishes the page by talking about intuitive guidance and vibration, if that's not spot on I don't what is.

This page tends to smack of LSD symptomotolgy. However I am not so sure when the report is read through of a drug connection, don't fall into that trap. However it is important to discover if he has or has not taken LSD or mushrooms at ANY time. His beliefs regarding the male and female sides of the body are close to my thinking as the dual 'sex' of the universe. I can testify to experiencing the skullcap scenario and I was not on LSD or mushrooms.

The 'Eye of Ra' comment; recent research revealed that a certain vibration in the sand (e.g. the Kings Chamber in the great pyramid) revealed a geometric pattern, which in turn resembled the Eye of Ra. We may be talking vibration here in the stones. I get suspicious when I hear of symbols in stone, if you play with the word, stones, you get notes or tones, either way it spells resonance.

I found the positioning of the thumbs comments interesting and I hope you press on that point. I have long considered the importance of hand movements in spiritual matters without finding any worthwhile answers as yet. This is an important area as we may learn something out of the ordinary here. I was a bit perplexed regarding the overall Christian flavour of the writings, being Gnostic myself, but I have witnessed many Christian flavoured spiritual events, [I] tend to favour the Christ ethos myself.

Psychic dreams? I think so. I have a few and they are SO vivid they will last a lifetime in my memory. Again Christian terminology, 'The Rapture', I believe the term psychic warrior would be more [terminology]. It would appear that Mr. Martin is on the correct vibration but preoccupied with Christian belief. How much study has he undertaken into the true writings of the Bible and the hidden messages contained within the words? It would also appear that Mr Martin might have been given his gift early as in the case of my friend.

I found the word 'PROJECT' interesting. What is the project? What are its aims? What is he trying to achieve?

Now we come to a crunch in the report: It appears that there are serious marital problems. I sense a depression and exhaustion in his words as well as despair, be very careful when approaching this matter.

The Internet is a forlorn way to try to learn anything. Fears of manipulation by evil forces tell me that Mr Martin does not yet fully understand what is going on spiritually. I would be examining his influences, what he reads, who he listens to etc. He admitted to seeing a medium but it is always suspicious when 'some' evidence is retained whilst more crucial items are destroyed. Why is his wife so negative about this? I can fully understand his desire to understand his situation but lab experiments? Secret work? He should be seeking out good spiritual people. We are to far away but a talk to my friend would ease his worries. The reference to Scotland is not new. There is a real undercurrent here which bubbles along nicely.

BLACK MOON

We have already ascertained the symbolism of the black moon and it negative aspects. The Rosicrucians certainly have deep esoteric knowledge so knowledge about Lillith would be common. I have a rare Rosicrucian book, which may explain in more detail, but I see no point in delving into that aspect at the moment.

Causing the UFO to arrive but positioning the thumbs would appear crackpot a la George Adamski etc. Ask for a demonstration. I have heard reports of orb type UFO's of varying sizes, again, [a possible parallel with] Falkland. (Note; the mention of Falkland refers to the 'Falkland Hill Case', a prominent, Scottish UFO case involving a family and their encounter with a landed UFO and its occupants.)

Knowledge is demonstrated when he talks of magnetic grid systems etc. Does he hold Astrological knowledge, a 40 year old Aries? Entering the realms of inter-dimensional science now, not my strong point.

I would ask him about his Holy Grail beliefs and his thoughts of Armageddon. Does he believe that there is a universal war going on? Multi dimensionalism: The recent movie. 'THE ONE' centres on this theory, has he seen it? Again I must concur that humans are a balanced male and female. I could write the part about the Indian, I met him in a tepee, whilst in deep meditation. This was exactly what happened to me. I had no flashbacks as someone coughed and startled me out of my state.

Conclusions

Whilst there is always the possibility of mental illness, fabrication, or drug taking, I believe Mr. Martin to be an interesting man. It is my belief he is having spiritual intuition and guidance. If that is the case then he should meet people who can point him in the right direction. I hope that you will achieve this. I believe that from a professional point of view he would be considered psychotic, however, having experiences some of his 'visions' I cannot possibly claim that without meeting him. I will be interested to hear what you think when you meet him in person. Look out for body language, eye contact, pressure of speech, and confabulation amongst other things.

8) Has he been told in well-defined terms why he was chosen for these visits? In other words, what makes him attractive to them? Does lineage or family line tie into this?

9) Is there any reason to suspect that there is a nearby entrance to their 'realm', or to other realms in relation to his home.

10) Are there any caves, caverns, tunnels, mines or large, deep lakes nearby?

11) Are there any vibrations or electrical sensations anywhere in his body that accompany his visits and/or journeys with these entities? Are there physical; marks or traces on John's body?

12) Did the children see them in the house or outside the house, or do they avoid the house?

*Note* All the above questions were incorporated into the interview I carried out with John at his home in Morecambe.

Epilogue

Regrettably, John and his wife have separated once again and I am unable to contact him, but on reflection, I think we have achieved what he wanted. He told me from the outset that he wanted to tell someone about his encounters, someone who would both take him seriously and attempt to find an explanation for what happened. All who were involved in the affair are certain that subjectively he did have such an experience. It also raises several important issues regarding the nature of the trinity of mind, reality and consciousness. In my opinion and based on what my research has shown, I am sure that John inadvertently triggered a series of elevated/altered states of consciousness. It is also likely that he has a talent for it and after he stumbled into it for the first time he was able to refine and replicate the conditions to achieve identical results. It is virtually impossible to say with certainty that he imagined the whole thing or that it is a direct by-product of drug induced fantasies

His descriptions of what he encountered tie neatly into a series of well-documented experiments with a variety of naturally occurring hallucinogenic compounds. During these experiments, all the volunteers described seeing entities similar to those seen by John, they also report visions of strange and exotic machines and creatures. This leads to some inescapable conclusions. One is; assuming all human brains share common 'hard wiring', then once social and cultural differences are taken into account, specific hallucinogens will produce similar images. On the other hand, it is also possible that these same chemicals facilitate the release of the mind from the confines of the body and allow glimpses of other dimensions existing concurrently with ours. Finally, is it possible that once mind and consciousness are set free from physical restraints, that we actually transcend time and space and step outside Newtonian conventions to gain access to infinity?
